Women's Visual Arts Program

Celebrating Women's Creativity Through Art

Before YWCA Edmonton made its home on 124 Street, the space’s soaring ceilings and expansive windows welcomed some of Edmonton’s most inspiring art galleries. Today, that artistic legacy continues.

In partnership with the Miller Art Gallery and the Peck Visual Arts Program, YWCA Edmonton creates opportunities for women artists to share their work, develop their practice, and connect with the community through meaningful artistic experiences. The initiative is built on two complementary pillars: the Peck Visual Arts Series and the Artist in Residence Program. Together, these two programs celebrate women’s voices in the arts while creating pathways for artists to both exhibit their work and deepen their creative practice.

Peck Visual Arts Series

Led by Jared Tabler, chief curator and executive director, the YWCA Peck Visual Arts Program Series showcases the work of emerging and established women artists through rotating exhibitions in Bellamy Salon and YWCA Edmonton's community spaces. Each exhibition offers a unique perspective on identity, resilience, community, and empowerment, transforming our space through creativity, conversation, and connection.

Artist in Residence

The Artist in Residence Program supports the growth and professional development of women visual artists by providing dedicated time, space, mentorship, and resources to create new work. Through retreats at Camp Yowochas, opportunities for artistic exploration, and a culminating exhibition, the residency fosters creative practice while encouraging artists to engage with themes of place, reflection, and community.
