Counselling Internships & Practicums
Empowerment, Advocacy, and Education
Are you completing your Masters or PhD in a Counselling discipline and passionate about supporting survivors of family and intimate partner violence?
Every year, our team of practicum students and PhD Interns offer thousands of hours of support to women, children and gender-diverse people in our community. Our practicum program is designed to accommodate the requirements of multiple Masters of Counselling Psychology programs across Alberta and meets the practicum requirements for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists.
To Apply
For PhD students, please visit the Edmonton Cross-Speciality Psychology Residence Consortium for more information on how to do your PhD internship with YWCA Edmonton.
For Masters students, please submit your cover letter and curriculum vitae to Tessa Dimnik at t.dimnik@ywcaedm.org in PDF form.
Interested in Volunteering?
Throughout the year, we are also able to accommodate volunteer counsellors who may be:
- Completing their Masters in Counselling Psychology or PhD program and are looking for experience outside of their formal practicum
- newly Registered Provisional Psychologists looking for supervision and additional counselling experience
If you are interested in volunteering with YWCA Edmonton Counselling Services, please contact Ashley Lim at a.lim@ywcaedm.org. Note: Volunteer opportunities are subject to availability.
