Rose Breakfast

December 4 @ 7:30 am - 10:00 am

Start your day with YWCA Edmonton’s Rose Breakfast hosted in the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald’s beautiful Empire Ballroom.

Take in an inspiring and thought-provoking conversation about the growing impact of technology-facilitated sexual violence and the role we all play in preventing it. Hear an inspiring keynote address from Carol Todd, whose story underscores the urgent need to address the harms that occur in online spaces and their very real consequences offline. Together, we’ll explore how education, early intervention, and compassionate support can help empower youth, support survivors, and create safer communities.

Your support of the Rose Campaign helps fund critical prevention and recovery programs that build a more equitable future for everyone.

About the Keynote Speaker

Carol Todd is an award-winning educator and digital literacy coordinator, advocate, and the founder of the Amanda Todd Legacy Society. She dedicated her life to global activism following the tragic loss of her 15-year-old daughter, Amanda Todd, to suicide in October 2012, after Amanda suffered severe cyberbullying and sextortion. Carol has received numerous honours for her advocacy for cyberbully prevention, digital safety, and youth mental health support, including the King Charles III Coronation Medal and Meritorious Service Cross awarded by the Governor General of Canada, UBC Alumni Educator of the Year Award, L’Oreal Paris Canada Women of Worth Award, and was nominated for a Women of Distinction Award from YWCA BC.
