21 Sheila

Sheila was born on June 7, 1936 in Edmonton. 

Sheila graduated from Misericordia Hospital Nursing Program in 1958, working as a registered nurse in emergency and intensive care wards. She was gold medallist for Proficiency in Obstetrical Nursing.

Sheila was a member and former chairman of the Gold Bar Community League and the coordinating Council for area 13.

Beginning in 1974, Sheila ran unsuccessfully for council 5 times before finally being elected in 1989. She served as chair of city council’s Committee on Ward Revision and Citizen Participation. Sheila lost re-election in 1995, and was unsuccessful in three future attempts during the 1998, 2007 and 2010 elections.

Sheila was elected to the Capital Health Authority (CHA) Board on October 15, 2001 in the first ever election of that board.
