Discovering Within by EunMee Kim, Opening Night Exhibition

Join us for opening night of the next exhibit in The Peck Visual Arts Program YWCA: Discovering Within by Edmonton abstract artist EunMee Kim.

Working with layered acrylic paint, EunMee creates compositions that balance organic movement with structured forms, exploring rhythm, tension and flow.

“Discovering Within” began with a 100-day project of small paper studies created with limited time, colour and tools. Working intuitively revealed unexpected possibilities, inspiring EunMee to revisit and reimagine pieces that once felt unresolved.

Through shifts in scale, colour, material and layering, those early studies evolved into new works that invite us to look again and discover what might otherwise be overlooked.

ARTIST BIO

EunMee Kim is an abstract artist based in Edmonton, Canada. Working with layered acrylic paint, she creates compositions that balance organic movement with structured forms. Her work explores rhythm, tension, and flow through an intuitive process of layering and response. Her paintings often evoke landscapes or imagined spaces without referring to specific locations. Allowing each composition to unfold over time, she works between spontaneity and structure.
