December 6th, 1989 was a terrible day in Canadian history.  One of our darkest moments. For me, it was the day when my sense of safety, justice, and equality was forever changed.

Yesterday (December 6) was the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.  It was 23 years ago on that day that a man walked into l’Ecole Polytechnique asked the men to leave and then he systematically gunned down 14 women.  While that day will forever be a part of Canada’s consciousness, for me December 7th holds special meaning.
