New Edmonton Women’s Committee Sees Flood of Applicants

Edmonton’s women are lining up to have their voices heard at city hall.

The city new women’s advisory committee, which councillors created earlier this year, has had almost 150 applicants for just 15 spots.

Coun. Bev Esslinger said she has been delighted to see so many women interested in taking part.

“It’s a great response. We are very pleased with that,” she said. “I think it reflects an interest to ensure that women’s voices are heard.”
