Take part in YWCA Week Without Violence™ October 13 - 19, 2014
Each year during the third week of October, Canadians bond with people in over 90 countries around the world to mark YWCA’s Week Without Violence™, a week-long series of community events promoting diverse approaches to creating a violence-free world. More than 9,500 people in schools, workplaces and neighbourhood organizations throughout Canada recognize this annual violence prevention initiative aimed at making violence a thing of the past.
When was the last time you did something as simple as being nice? This year we're aiming to eliminate violence in communities during our annual Week Without Violence(TM) campaign taking place October 13th through 19th. Whether it is a family member, friend, co-worker or complete stranger, we're aiming to spread this initiative to help create safer, more inclusive communities, nationally. This year's Week Without Violence aims to channel positive messages and to help youth and adults take the time to think about how their relations affect the people around them and the world they live in.
New this year, we've created Facebook Timeline cover images in English and French to help you spread the word about the Week Without Violence. We've also created fun, customized Random Act of Kindness "Post-Its" to make it easy for you to create your very own "random acts of kindness" by writing positive messages to share with others. It's an easy and meaningful way for everyone to "Be Nice" to each other.
